Insurability: why we urgently need to democratize prevention!
The insurability of businesses and local authorities is no longer a technical subject reserved for insiders. It is now a central issue for the long-term survival of our regions. Between rising claims rates, increased regulatory requirements and the gradual withdrawal of certain insurers, many players are finding it difficult to obtain suitable cover.
At Previsia, we wanted to shed some light on this phenomenon through a series of 12 educational videos. The aim: to decipher current tensions, share our findings from the field and show how prevention can reverse the trend.
A scissor effect that weakens the entire system
Rising claims frequency and intensity, combined with financial and regulatory constraints, are creating a scissor effect. Result:
- soaring premiums,
- decreasing warranties,
- worsening insurability, even for historically well-protected structures.
Growing inequalities in the face of risk
Our data from hundreds of flash field diagnostics confirms this: there is considerable heterogeneity in risk management.
👉 Sites with a good prevention rating suffer 4 times fewer claims.
Yet they often pay the same price as less well-prepared structures. This historically effective mutualized model is now reaching its limits.
Extending prevention to all players
Today, less than 5% of companies receive prevention support. And yet, the majority of claims arise on sites that have never been visited.
Preserving insurability therefore also means extending prevention to the market of SMEs, very small businesses, lessors, rural communities, technical or isolated professions.
A differentiated, fair and sustainable approach
It's time to build a system that rewards good performers and supports the most vulnerable. This requires:
✔ Better upstream risk assessment
✔ Prioritization of actions via vulnerability mapping
✔ A clear path back to insurability for at-risk profiles
Previsia, a trusted third party to democratize prevention
At Previsia, we have developed a suite of tools to make prevention accessible to all:
- a business application for prevention specialists,
- flash diagnostics to initiate a process without expertise,
- a park-wide exhibition visualization platform.
Our ambition is simple: to enable every organization, whatever its size or resources, to better understand its risks and take concrete action.
Conclusion
Prevention must no longer be a privilege.
It must become a shared responsibility, a collective response to economic, social and regional challenges.
🛡️ Prevention today means insurance tomorrow.
